Steve Smith Sr. slams Greg Hardy saying he never hit a woman

Steve Smith Sr. spoke out against Greg Hardy Tuesday after reading comments the pass rusher made about not ever hitting a woman.

Hardy, in an interview with ESPN’s Adam Schefter, said he never did hit any woman. Smith took offense to this and made his feelings known:

It’s hard to imagine Hardy having the nerve to say what he did considering the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Last year in November Deadspin released documents detailing the abuse Hardy inflicted on Nicole Holder, and it wasn’t pretty. Holder is shown to have horrible bruising all over her body stemming from an ordeal with Hardy. The ordeal involved (allegedly) him throwing her on a bed full of firearms, among other atrocities.

The only reason Hardy was never punished in a court of law for his offenses is that Holder never showed up in court to testify against him. She had previously testified but was nowhere to be found when the domestic violence trial began.

“He looked me in my eyes and he told me he was going to kill me,” the woman testified on July 15 (h/t New York Post). “I was so scared I wanted to die. When he loosened his grip slightly, I said just, ‘Do it. Kill me.’”

All evidence points to Hardy being responsible for committing horrible acts of domestic violence against Holder, yet he had the nerve to say he’d never hit a woman?

Thankfully most of us realize these are the words of a person who has serious issues with reality. And thankfully we have stand-up men like Steve Smith Sr. who will call him out on it.
