Colin Kaepernick

For the past several weeks, there has been talk about San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick heading to the Denver Broncos in a trade during the 2016 NFL draft.

While this talk has calmed down a bit recently, most expected rumors to heat up during the draft itself.

That’s not been the case.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, there is nothing going on regarding a potential Kaepernick trade to Denver:

The biggest issue here has been money. Denver wants Kaepernick to take a restructured deal at $7 million annually. Meanwhile, the embattled quarterback has balked at this idea.

Now that the Broncos landed Paxton Lynch after a move up with the Seattle Seahawks in the first round, we can pretty much put an end to the talk of Kaepernick heading to Denver.

It’s going to be interesting to see how this entire situation plays out between Kaepernick and the 49ers. With Denver no longer an option here, the quarterback’s options are becoming severely limited.
