Vikings OG is ‘tired of watching Green Bay win every year’

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The Minnesota Vikings are looking for changes in the NFC North.

After a Week 15 blowout win for the Vikings, who beat the New York Giants (49-17) and a blowout loss for the Green Bay Packers, who were reamed by the Arizona Cardinals (38-8), both teams now rest at 10-5 in the NFC North.

And next Sunday night, the Vikings will have the opportunity to clinch the division if they can defeat the Packers. With the Packers winning the NFC North for the past four seasons, guard Brandon Fusco has had enough via the Minnesota Star Tribune.

“I’m tired of watching Green Bay win it every year, so (beating the Packers is) our No. 1 goal right now.”

The last time the Vikings won in their division was in 2009. Furthermore since the 2002 realignment, the Packers have dominated the top of the division for eight of the 13 seasons.

After watching the Vikings dismantle the Giants piece by piece and seeing the Packers received the same treatment by Arizona’s fine-tuned unit, it’s not hard to believe Mike Zimmer’s Vikings could pull off a win next Sunday.

Green Bay’s offensive line is extremely depleted, as evidenced by Aaron Rodgers taking eight sacks by the Cardinals defense. That’s where the Vikings are going to have to strike to cause the Packers to stumble up on their home turf when Minnesota attempts to shift the tide and clinch the division in Week 17.
