Michael Bennett talks Todd Gurley: ‘he’s no Marshawn Lynch’

Michael Bennett

This past Sunday, the St. Louis Rams romped the Seattle Seahawks and running back Todd Gurley rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown greatly contributing to a 23-17 win at CenturyLink Field.

The rookie had a solid game considering Seattle had allowed only four running back rushing touchdowns so far this season. Though despite Gurley’s impressive performance, Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett didn’t see it as very special.

“He’s average to me, personally,” Bennett told reporters after the Rams’ 23-17 win, via ESPN.com. “I’ve seen better running backs. He’s no Marshawn Lynch.”

Bennett’s two cents worth certainly gets his name in the news after an embarrassing home loss and it reminds us that the Seahawks definitely aren’t the same without Lynch.

And not only did a sassy Bennett diss Gurley, he also took a jab at the Rams as a unit.

“The Rams, they play good football against us,” he said. “They just don’t play good football against everybody else.”

The Rams have been on an uptick as of late and have won their last three games in a row. Though it’s a classic case of too little, too late as far as the Rams’ playoff status this season.

The smack-talking Bennett and his Seahawks have a tall order coming up when they face the Arizona Cardinals (13-2) in the regular season closer in Week 17.
