Ben Roethlisberger carried off field, leaves game with injury after Aldon Smith sack

Ben Roethlisberger had to be carried off the field after Aldon Smith sacked the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, injuring his ankle in the process.

Roethilsberger had to be helped onto a cart and was taken shortly afterwards into the locker room.

It’s been a rough year injury-wise for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and this is the second time Roethlisberger has exited a game this year with a lower-body injury.

This time around his foot got caught under Smith’s body as he was taking the quarterback down. It didn’t look pretty, he couldn’t put any weight on it afterwards and many wonder if he will be out longer than just one week after seeing the injury.

The Steelers chose not to dress Michael Vick for the game, even though he said he was healthy prior to the contest. He went 2-1 in reserve while Big Ben was out with an MCL and bone bruise earlier this year. Instead, Jones will attempt to close out the win at home against the Steelers, who were up 35-28 at the time of Roethlisberger’s injury.
