Shane Lowry is now a converted tree-hugger after his first PGA Tour victory at the Bridgstone Invitational this past weekend.
Lowry needed some help to win the tourney. Entering the 18th hole on Sunday, he held a one-shot lead over Bubba Watson. After hitting his tee shot deep into the rough amongst the trees, he took a wedge and tried to go over said trees. He didn’t make the shot he was hoping for but the ball ricocheted off a tree and ended settling 11 feet from the cup.
After sinking his birdie putt, Lowry won the tournament by two strokes, thanks to the lucky bounce he received off the tree.
Not surprisingly, he appreciated the assist.

Lowry will now head to Whistling Straights to compete in the 2015 PGA Championship, along with all the other top golfers in the world. Perhaps after earning his first tour victory, his luck will continue to hold in the upcoming major.
