Odell Beckham Jr. Not Worried About the “Madden Curse”

New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is the youngest player and only rookie to have been voted to the cover of a Madden game. The talented receiver had a remarkable rookie season, tallying 91 catches for 1,305 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 games.

When asked if he is worried about the haunting “Madden Curse,” Beckham simply stated this (via ESPN):

“I don’t know what a jinx is. It’s definitely a blessing to be on the cover. It was a surprise to be in the running after just a year, but it’s definitely exciting.”

Let’s not mention Michael Vick, Ray Lewis, Shaun Alexander and Donovan McNabb, all of whom fell victim to the so-called “Madden Curse.”

One of the most gifted players already in the NFL, Beckham Jr. will be fascinating to watch this upcoming season. Here’s to hoping there is more of where this came from:
