By now you know that HBO has some darn good original programming. The new show Ballers, starring Dwayne Johnson, promises to be yet another solid drama in a lineup of great shows on the cable network.
Set to premiere alongside True Detective June 21, this show will feature the former wrestler turned movie star as a financial manager for football players.
Some say it’s Entourage meet Any Given Sunday and Scarface, which pretty much means every football fan should tune in.
Considering HBO is featuring the show alongside the Season 2 premiere of “True Detective,” the powers-to-be have to be pretty excited about its prospects.
Rawson Marshall Thurber will direct the show. He’s known mostly for the movies Dodgeball and We’re the Millers.
