Bruce Arians Won’t Discuss Adrian Peterson: “That’s Tampering, Dude!”

Everyone in the country is discussing Minnesota Vikings’ running back Adrian Peterson. Everyone except Arizona Cardinals’ head coach Bruce Arians.

Arians was asked flat out what the chances are of the Cardinals trading for the disgruntled Peterson. Firing right back at the reporter with an answer, Arians jokingly responded with this comment (via NFL.com).

You’re trying to get me fined? That’s tampering, dude! I ain’t gonna talk about another player.

A second attempt to get Arians to leak information regarding Peterson went over even worse.

I ain’t saying jack about Adrian Peterson. I can get fined for that.

Apparently Arians likes fines about as much as Marshawn Lynch does.

In one last ditch effort to get Arians to comment on Peterson, he was asked if he would want a player “like” Peterson on his team, with which Arians retorted:

There aren’t too many like him!

This banter was occurring while a few breakfast tables away Vikings’ head coach Mike Zimmer was adamantly telling reporters he has no intention of trading Peterson to another team.

If a trade was in the works, despite Zimmer’s set-in-stone comments, the Cardinals aren’t planning to walk the thin line of tampering—something which has suddenly become popular among other teams recently.
