University of Alabama defensive tackle Jonathan Taylor was arrested Saturday on multiple charges relating to a domestic issue with his girlfriend.
According to the Tuscaloosa Police Department, charges include domestic violence third degree assault and domestic violence third degree criminal mischief.
This isn’t Taylor’s first bout with the law.
The 335-pound defender was dismissed from Georgia’s football team after being charged with felony aggravated assault and family violence last July. The circumstances surrounding that arrest are disturbing. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Taylor allegedly “choked” and “struck” his then girlfriend with a closed fist.
He was also arrested last March for theft by deception after being caught double cashing meal reimbursement checks.
Needless to say, Taylor’s latest incident will likely end his career with the Crimson Tide.
According to police, the victim in this situation showed minor injuries to her neck. They also indicated that a closet door had a hole punched in it.
Head coach Nick Saban was unavailable for comment Saturday evening, but will likely speak up on the situation at a presser Monday.

Taylor’s arrest came hours after fellow Crimson Tide player, Geno Smith. was arrested and charged with a DUI.
