J.J. Watt Buys Cabin in the “Middle of Nowhere” to Train

J.J. Watt just finished a spectacular season that saw him earn Pro Bowl MVP honors, hang out with Katy Perry, score more touchdowns than most wide receivers on the planet and challenge the assumption that a defensive player can’t be in the league MVP conversation.

Watt has now rewarded himself by purchasing a log cabin in the “middle of nowhere” Wisconsin. Regarding his cabin, Watt had this to say.

It’s really minimalistic. The only thing I have to focus on is training and that’s the way I like it. There’s no frills, there’s nothing to distract you up here. It’s just an empty space and a log cabin and snow.

I guess this is a step up from sleeping in his friend’s dining room like he did last year while he trained for the 2014 season. Hopefully, the cabin has extra tall ceilings to accommodate Watt’s 6’6″ height.

Watt is coming off a 2014 campaign that saw him put up 69 tackles, 20.5 sacks, 10 passes defended and five touchdowns.

I’d say, he can pretty much buy whatever he wants to reward himself. While a lot of us would think some snazzy mansion in Miami would be a reward, Watt shows he is a man of dedication. He purchased the cabin away from everyone so he can get that Watt-like training in during the offseason. Heck, the barn is even going to be used as a gym.

Talk about dedication to remain the game’s best.
