Notre Dame Under Investigation for Academic Fraud

Fans of the fighting Irish are going to wish this story would disappear like Lennay Kekua. Rumors are currently circulating the during the 2012 and 2013 seasons players were given illegal academic help during the season. Too bad Everett Golson did not hear about the aid.

According to a source on Reddit and Pat Forde from Yahoo Sports, the University of Notre Dame is being investigated for academic fraud.

Allegedly, an academic advisor at the University had a tutor write papers for four players during the 2013 season. All four players were expected starters heading into the 2014 season, and are likely to be suspended. There is no word on whether wins will be vacated at this time, but both the 2012 and 2013 season win totals are expected to come under fire.

The players named in this supposed scandal are three starters: corner KeiVarae Russell, wide receiver DaVaris Daniels, defensive end Ishaq Williams, and reserve line backer Kendall Moore. If proved true, this scandal would be larger than the hole in Manti Te’o’s heart.

The fan reaction has been fun to watch however:

Notre Dame should not have to vacate their 42-14 loss to Alabama though. The Irish earned that one fair and square.
