How Truck Series drivers were eliminated from Round of 8

Below is a quick breakdown of how drivers in the Round of 8 for the Truck Series playoffs were eliminated on Friday night.

  • Rajah Caruth – In Stage 2, Kaden Honeycutt got into Rajah Caruth’s truck, slashing his tire. The tire went flat, causing Caruth to lose control and slam into the wall, resulting in race-ending damage that eliminated him from the playoffs.
  • Daniel Hemric – Just about everything that could go wrong for Daniel Hemric did on Friday night. The truck overheated, with the No. 19 suffering significant damage on a restart because of a slow truck in front of him. Hemric exited Friday’s race in the final stage.
  • Layne Riggs – Layne Riggs finished third on Friday night, including the extra point for the fastest lap. However, he just missed out on making the Championship 4 because Kaden Honeycutt placed second at Martinsville, he held the tiebreaker over Riggs.
  • Grant Enfinger – It was largely an uneventful night for Enfinger, who found himself fighting to stay within the top 10 on Friday night and ultimately finished 12th. The points differential coming into tonight (-40) put him in a hole that made it nearly impossible to get in without a win.
