Report: Raiders signing TE Jared Cook

The Oakland Raiders have reportedly added more speed to their offense, as tight end Jared Cook is set to sign a deal with the AFC West club.

We already know this will make Derek Carr a happy camper, as he reportedly was heavily recruiting Cook to join him in Oakland.

One of the most physically gifted tight ends in the NFL, Cook is a matchup nightmare against most linebackers and safeties. Unfortunately, his hands have been an issue throughout his career, with drops being his key red flag.

That said, he did catch 30 passes in 10 regular season games last year and was a big-time playmaker for Aaron Rodgers last year in the playoffs, hauling in 18 receptions for 229 yards and two touchdowns in three games.

Cook also hauled in the catch of the playoffs against the Dallas Cowboys down the left sideline.

Adding Cook, along with speedster Cordarrelle Patterson, gives Carr and Co. quite a loaded offense with which to assault opposing defenses.
