Draymond Green reaches plea deal in assault case

Steve Kerr and Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors

Golden State Warriors forward and current Olympian Draymond Green has reportedly reached a plea deal in case involving an assault early this month in Michigan.

The deal includes a $560 fine and a one-year no contact order with the victim. The plea also means criminal offenses will not be levied against Green and it will likely become nothing more than a civil infraction. Green will not be placed on probation.

The incident in question involved a current Michigan State football player, who had previously indicated he wanted to drop the charges.

Green reportedly slapped Spartan defensive back Jermaine Edmondson during an early-morning altercation at a bar in Michigan earlier this month. At that time, reports surfaced that the spat wasn’t necessarily too serious.

Green’s plea won’t have any impact on his status in the Olympics, and it’s highly unlikely he will be punished by the NBA.
