Los Angeles mayor wants Caitlyn Jenner to light Olympics torch

The city of Los Angeles is trying to land the 2024 Summer Olympics, and mayor Eric Garcetti has the perfect candidate in mind to light the torch, should his city win the bid.

In an exclusive interview with TMZ Sports, Garcetti revealed his choice to light the torch would be none other than Caitlyn Jenner, who won the men’s decathlon when she was a man in 1976.

“I think we have so many folks, it would be great to have people of every color and every gender come and show LA’s diversity and light up that torch again,” Garcetti said.

Nobody represents diversity right now more than Jenner, who has become a lighting rod for the cause of gender equality in the United States.

It remains to be seen in Los Angeles will win the bid to host the Olympics in 2024. The other cities in the running are Paris (France), Rome (Italy) and Hamburg (Germany).
