Zion Williamson ‘day-to-day’ with Grade 1 knee sprain

The Zion Williamson injury heard round the world is not going to keep the Duke superstar out of action for long.

Duke shared Thursday that Williamson is day-to-day with a Grade 1 right knee sprain.

Obviously, this is the best possible news for Williamson, and for the Blue Devils.

When Williamson’s right shoe blew out on him Wednesday night and he went down in a heap of pain on the floor, everyone feared the worst initially. His head coach said he was “very concerned” about the injury, and rightfully so.

The sure-fire No. 1 overall pick in the coming 2019 NBA Draft, Williamson has been phenomenal as a freshman this year, averaging 21.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.

While he is expected to play for Duke when he is healthy, NBA stars have come out with pleas for Williamson to sit out and prepare for the next step, rather than risk further injury.
