Yankees reportedly in on Madison Bumgarner trade

Madison Bumgarner is one of the best bang-for-your-buck MLB players in the game today

The San Francisco Giants might in fact move ace starter and three-time world champ Madison Bumgarner before Wednesday afternoon’s trade deadline.

If so, the New York Yankees have reportedly joined other teams in pursuit of the future Hall of Famer. This piece of information comes from Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic, and is an absolute whopper.

New York has struck out in its attempt to add a front-line starter. If it is able to pick up a playoff hero in Bumgarner, that would reshape the American League race.

We already know that the Houston Astros are in on both Bumgarner and Wheeler. They expect to land a top-end starter ahead of the deadline.

Bumgarner is pitching to a 6-7 record with a 3.74 ERA and 1.15 WHIP on the season. As an impending free agent, the Giants might be willing to part ways with the long-time face of the franchise.

Though, San Francisco remains in the playoff race. That has led to speculation that the team might buy instead of sell.

A conflicting report Wednesday indicates that San Francisco has told teams it plans to keep Bumgarner.

Stay tuned. This could get pretty interesting here soon.
