The Philadelphia 76ers took action to ban the fans involved in Saturday night’s scuffle with Washington Wizards guard Isaiah Thomas. Said fans were banned from the arena for the next year.
Thomas, who was ejected from the game for going into the stands, is now facing punishment himself. The NBA has suspended him two games.
This is a little surprising of a development given that the fans were in the wrong here.
Philly fans also have somewhat of a reputation the NBA should have taken into account.
As it is, Thomas will now sit out the Wizards’ next two games.
