Under the weather, Steve Kerr will not coach the Warriors Saturday night

Steve Kerr Golden State Warriors Game 2 2017 NBA Finals

The writing had been on the wall since Steve Kerr missed Saturday afternoon’s shoot around prior to his Golden State Warriors taking on the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night. But the team made it official a couple hours before tip-off.

Kerr is under the weather and will not coach the Warriors in their Game 3 outing against the Blazers in Portland on Saturday night.

Really, this shouldn’t be cause for alarm for the two-time defending Western Conference champs. Assistant Mike Brown has head coaching experience, having even coached in the NBA Finals during his long career. He will be implementing a Kerr system that the veteran assistant knows extremely well.

Still, it’s rather interesting that Kerr is too sick to be able to hang out on the bench. We wish him the best and hope this is just a short-term illness for the already elite-level head coach.

Golden State boasts a 2-0 series lead and can pretty much end Portland’s hopes of pulling off an upset with a road win Saturday night.
