WATCH: Windy City playing tricks on Diamondbacks

There’s a reason Chicago is called the “Windy City” and Friday’s game between the Chicago Cubs and Arizona Diamondbacks at Wrigley Field showed exactly why.

In the bottom of the second inning with two outs and the bases loaded, a simple fly ball into the outfield turned into a nightmare for the Diamondbacks.

Wilmer Flores had his eye on it, but the wind toyed with his mind and left everyone scrambling in the outfield as the ball dropped and two runners scored.

The wind wasn’t finished toying with the visitors from Arizona. In the bottom of the third inning, a deep fly ball off the bat of Willson Contreras turned into a double when Ketel Marte was tricked by the wind and completely whiffed on the baseball.

Home-field advantage is usually limited to having the fans on your side and getting to hit last, but Wrigley Field takes it to a whole new level and it worked out perfectly for the Cubs on Friday.
