Wilmer Flores hit a two-run homer in the ninth inning and the visiting San Francisco Giants held on for a 4-2 win against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night.
Los Angeles took a one-run lead into the ninth with closer Kenley Jansen (1-3) looking for his 22nd save, but Jansen gave up a leadoff single to Buster Posey and a two-run blast to Flores for his fourth blown save.
Jansen departed with the bases loaded and one out, and Victor Gonzalez walked in a run with two outs to make it 4-2.
Dodgers starter Julio Urias allowed one run and three hits over seven innings and was in line to become MLB’s first 13-game winner. Urias struck out five and walked one.
Chris Taylor homered for the third time in two games and AJ Pollock delivered an RBI double for the Dodgers, who were three outs from moving into a tie for first with the Giants atop the NL West, but instead dropped two games back.
Mike Yastrzemski homered for the second straight game for the Giants, who have been alone in first since May 31.
San Francisco starter Logan Webb allowed two runs and three hits in five innings. He struck out five and walked three on 75 pitches.
Jay Jackson, Zack Littell and Jose Alvarez (3-1) each threw hitless innings in relief.
Tyler Rogers, who gave up the walk-off, three-run homer to Will Smith in an 8-6 loss to the Dodgers on Tuesday, pitched the ninth for his 11th save.
The Dodgers had taken a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning on Pollock’s two-out RBI double.
Yastrzemski went deep in the bottom of the first to give the Giants a 1-0 lead, his 16th of the season.
Taylor led off the bottom of the first with a home run to tie the score at 1.
Taylor has been filling in at shortstop for Gavin Lux, who strained his hamstring on Sunday, and batting in the leadoff spot in place of Mookie Betts, who wasn’t in the starting lineup for a fourth straight game because of a right hip pointer.
