While 2020 has been an odd year, some things never change. That includes the Minnesota Twins absolutely knocking the cover off the ball.

Unfortunately for the Twins, they were on the receiving end of a home run barrage in the fifth inning of Saturday’s game against the Chicago White Sox.

That included Chicago tagging the Twins for three homers in the single frame.

It started with a ho-hum 404-foot solo blast from Leury GarcĂa.

Edwin Encarnacion joined in on the fun with a monstrous blast. Left fielder Eddie Rosario did not even flinch as the ball made its way to the empty bleachers.

For good measure, Eloy Jimenez went back-to-back with a blast of his own.

Fresh off a 10-5 win over Chicago that saw Max Kepler blast two homers in the first two innings, this is not the way Minnesota envisioned its opening weekend starting in the Windy City.

For the Sox, it could be a sign of things to come. Chicago has one heck of a potent lineup and could be dangerous with the playoff field now expanded to 16 teams.
