There are few things better in collegiate sports than watching a young athlete receive a scholarship and the Utah Utes found another incredible way to do it.

During a team meeting this week, a delivery of a large pizza was brought in for the team to dine on. Inside the box was a scholarship waiting for senior defensive end Malik Haynes.

Haynes walked on to Utah’s football team in 2017 after playing at Ventura College for two seasons. Following a redshirt season upon his arrival, he saw time on special teams last season for the Utes.

The scholarship should take tremendous financial pressure off Haynes’ shoulders and allow him to just focus on football. Seeing the reactions of his teammates and coaches, it’s clear Haynes means aa lot to everyone in Utah’s locker room.
