The Kansas City Chiefs fell into a 20-10 hole late in the third quarter after San Francisco 49ers running back Raheem Mostert scored a touchdown. Then Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu absolutely lit into his teammates on the sideline with an emotional outburst.
Chris Meyers of Fox Sports shared that Mathieu needed to be calmed down by coaches afterward.
It’s understandable that emotions are running hot for Mathieu and the Chiefs. They have struggled to get anything going offensively against San Francisco’s dominant defense, and the 49ers have started picking up steam in the second half.
With everything on the line, it’s now or never for these guys.
