The Minnesota Twins have been one of the biggest surprises in MLB this season. Los Angeles Angeles starter Matt Harvey? Not so much.

This all came to the front burner early during Thursday’s game between the two teams in Anaheim.

Harvey was tagged for six runs in the second inning alone. It included three consecutive balls that had an exit velocity of 100-plus mph.

The last one was an absolutely mammoth three-run blast from Jonathan Schoop.

This shot went 467 feet over the left field fence and was traveling at 110. When baseballs are going faster than high-speed chases outside of Angel Stadium, it’s probably not a good thing.

Harvey entered Thursday’s start boasting a 6.35 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in nine starts this season. Los Angeles really is getting a lot for the $11 million it is paying the veteran this season.

As it relates to the Twins, they entered Thursday’s matinee matchup seven games ahead of the Cleveland Indians in the AL Central.
