WATCH: Tom Brady Throws Interception in the End Zone

With the New England Patriots driving down the field against a stout Seattle Seahawks defense in the first quarter of Super Bowl XLIX, it sure looked like Tom Brady and company would score the first points of the game.

Then this happened…

Throwing it up for grabs—something Brady rarely does—the ball was picked off in the end zone by Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane to maintain a 0-0 tie towards the latter part of the first quarter.

New England had been attempting to spread Seattle’s defense wide with short passes, which is a scheme that looked like it was working initially. Unfortunately for the Patriots, they weren’t able to capitalize.

Lane is questionable to return after suffering a hard hit near the end of the play. It looked like a serious arm injury.
