Saquon Barkley entered Week 17 needing only 114 total yards to go over 2,000 yards from scrimmage on the season. He got it in style.
Barkley eclipsed the milestone in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. He reached it with a 68-yard run.

With this milestone, an already fantastic rookie year can now be put into historical perspective.
Previously, only Eric Dickerson (1983) and Edgerrin James (1999) had reached 2,000 scrimmage yards as a rookie, doing so for the Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis Colts, respectively.

New York’s season has been a real disappointment. But the emergence of Barkley has been an unquestioned exception.
