Derek Holland hasn’t even taken the mound for the Pittsburgh Pirates yet this season, but on Sunday he was ejected while sitting in the bleachers.

Then, manager Derek Shelton got into a hilarious argument with the home-plate umpire that is so 2020.

Holland was sitting in the bleachers while St. Louis Cardinals center fielder Lane Thomas was at the plate.

Derrick S. Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch hypothesized that Holland was doing an impression the home-plate umpire didn’t approve of, earning the ejection.

Fans and analysts alike had some great reactions on Twitter to Holland earning the ejection from the left field bleachers.
