WATCH: Phillies lose first game of season on walk-off walk

We were pretty sure that the Philadelphia Phillies weren’t going 162-0. Even still, their first loss ended in particularly frustrating fashion.

With the game tied at eight in the ninth inning, the Phillies had star offseason acquisition David Robertson on the mound. Robertson clearly didn’t have his best stuff, as he loaded the bases with no outs. Robertson then walked Jake Noll, bringing the winning run home.

That’s a particularly frustrating way to lose any game — especially the first one of the season.

With the bases loaded and nobody out, the odds were against Philadelphia. But Noll is an unproven rookie. Make him swing the bat to win.
