WATCH: Pass interference on Eagles overturned, results in TD

© Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

While the NFL’s new rule to allow teams to challenge pass interference faced many questions coming into the year, the Philadelphia Eagles now love it after it led to a touchdown.

Eagles wide receiver Jeffrey broke open in the end zone and hauled in the short touchdown, but the officials flagged tight end Zach Ertz for offensive pass interference. Philadelphia quickly challenged the questionable OPI call and benefited from the NFL’s new rule.

It was clearly a blown call by the official as Ertz made contact with the defensive player immediately at the line of scrimmage. Replay got it right and the touchdown could be the spark Philadelphia’s offense desperately needs.
