This is quickly becoming a thing. Fresh off hitting the first leadoff homer of his already illustrious career, Washington Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper was back at it again Friday night. Setting the tone of a three-run first inning against the Philadelphia Phillies, Harper blasted his second leadoff homer of the week.
This time, it came against Philadelphia starter Nick Pivetta and was an opposite field beauty.
Harper and the Nationals might be struggling to an extent, but this represented his league-leading 11th homer of the season. It’s also Harper’s third homer in four games after he failed to knock one out of the yard in his previous 12 games.
