Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts waited patiently to find his pitch. Then it came and the All-Star outfielder delivered in the clutch for his team.
In the fourth inning, Betts fouled off seven pitches. Then, on a 3-2 count, the 25-year-old outfielder saw the pitch he wanted and blasted a go-ahead grand slam over the green monster.
It was his 23rd home run of the season and helped Boston take a 5-3 lead to give starting pitcher David Price some protection on the mound.
This has been an incredible season for Betts with monster home runs and thievery in the outfield to rob hits and home runs. Needless to say, Boston’s outfielder is making his case to be the MVP.
