A primetime clash between No. 15 SMU and No. 25 Memphis was expected to deliver plenty of excitement. After a thrilling first half of action, Memphis receiver Antonio Gibson kicked the second half off with a bang on a 97-yard kickoff return touchdown.

The Tigers already felt great coming out of the half with a 23-17 lead and Gibson made the sideline even more lively. The senior found a small crease near the sideline and snuck through it before burning the kicker on his way to the end zone for a game-changing score.

SMU already had enough problems stopping Gibson on offense. He racked up 104 receiving yards, including a 50-yard touchdown, in the first half with an 11-yard run as well.

If the Mustangs can’t figure out a way to contain Gibson, he’ll keep finding the end zone and run over SMU’s dreams of an undefeated season.
