WATCH: Max Scherzer rocked by two-run HR to open Wild Card Game

Most expected likely National League Cy Young winner Max Scherzer to have his way for the Washington Nationals against the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Wild Card Game Tuesday.

It did not happen early on. After walking the opening batter, Scherzer gave up a two-run blast to Yasmani Grandal on the first pitch the catcher saw in the top of the first.

Grandal was 1-of-16 in his career against Scherzer before taking that first pitch over the right field wall.

Milwaukee will need much of the same moving forward with likely NL MVP Christian Yelich out for the postseason.

As it relates to Scherzer, this is most definitely not the way he wanted to open a do-or-die game at home.
