WATCH: Jordan Spieth has fun with sister during practice round

Jordan Spieth has a chance to make history at the 2017 PGA Championship

Jordan Spieth is known for being one of the world’s best golfers, but the one-time U.S. Open champ is also an awesome big brother.

Spieth’s sister, Ellie, was born with a neurological disorder that has left her developmentally challenged. She holds a very special place in her brother’s heart, and the entire family is head over heels in love with the 16-year-old.

This was clearly evident during Spieth’s final practice round at Erin Hills ahead of the 2017 U.S. Open. Ellie was on the course with him, and the Golf Channel captured the two of them sharing a bit of fun on the course.

Back in April last year before the Masters, Augusta.com ran a story on Ellie and the Spieth family. In it, Jordan is quoted as saying Ellie is, “the best thing that ever happened to our family.”

“She’s the most special part of our family,” he said. “She’s the funniest part of our family.”

Clearly, he loves being around her, and the two have a special relationship that goes far beyond anything as trivial as golf. Spieth was able to enjoy that Wednesday before turning his attention solely to the task at hand, which is conquering Erin Hills in his pursuit of a third major championship.
