WATCH: Jon Gruden pumps up ‘Black Hole’ prior to coaching return

Lost in the entire Khalil Mack drama, Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden returns to the sideline in front of the Black Hole for a regular season game for the first time since 2001.

With his Raiders set to take on the Los Angeles Rams at the Oakland Coliseum Monday night, Gruden was out on the field pumping up the silver and black faithful.

This represents a reunion no one really saw coming. When late-great Raiders owner Al Davis traded Gruden to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the 2001 season, no one could have envisioned Chucky returning to the Bay.

But that became a reality when Davis’ son, Mark, signed Gruden to a contract that could be worth up to $100 million this past offseason.

With expectations pretty low and the Raiders only having two more seasons in Northern California until they move to Las Vegas, Gruden is out here enjoying his life. We can’t blame him for that before reality sets in.
