The Florida Gators needed a spark after watching South Carolina turn a turnover into a 17-10 lead. Sophomore running back Dameon Pierce provided that and more by gashing the Gamecocks’ defense for a 75-yard touchdown.

On Florida’s first offensive play, Pierce split a hole near the line of scrimmage then slipped out of a tackle. Florida’s explosive sophomore saw the opening down the sideline and turned on the jets on his way to a game-tying touchdown.

The Gators needed the running game to get going with quarterback Kyle Trask turning in one of his worst performances since becoming the starter. They finally committed to establishing the run and Pierce rewarded them in a big way.
