WATCH: Drew Brees unable to grip a football after injury

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees exited in the first half of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams with a right hand injury.

For a quarterback that’s been as dependable as Mr. Brees, this came as a major shock.

While Brees was initially listed as questionable to return, videos surfaced on the sideline at the Los Angeles Coliseum that shows the future Hall of Famer unable to even grip a football.

Brees, 40, has started at least 15 games in each of the past 15 seasons dating back to his days with the then-San Diego Chargers. By the looks of it, he’s going to struggle getting back on to the field here over the short term.

In his stead, former Minnesota Vikings first-round pick Teddy Bridgewater has not done much to inspire confidence against the Rams on Sunday.

This is certainly a story to keep an eye on moving forward.
