Future Hall of Fame pitcher CC Sabathia has been a fixture in the Bronx for the past 11 seasons.

One of the greatest pitchers in modern New York Yankees history made his final regular-season appearance at Yankee Stadium Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Angels.

Sabathia exited in the third inning with the Yankees down 2-0. He received one of the biggest ovations we’ve seen around the baseball world in some time. Check it out.

One of the truly great guys in the sports world, Sabathia means a lot more to the New York City community than simply what he has provided on the bump.

Struggling through his final season after announcing his retirement, there’s a chance Sabathia will be left off the Yankees’ postseason roster. If so, this could have been his final appearance at Yankee Stadium.

That fans sure let this lefty know how they feel about him.
