Warriors reportedly prefer Klay Thompson sits out Game 3

The Golden State Warriors are going to have a decision to make here within the next several hours. Star guard Klay Thompson remains questionable for Game 3 of the NBA Finals Wednesday night after suffering a strained hamstring in Toronto Sunday evening.

According to this report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Warriors officials prefer that Thompson sits out the game and potentially returns for Game 4 Friday evening.

However, Thompson is lobbying the Warriors’ brass big time. He wants to be out on the court with the Finals series against Toronto tied up at one.

Thompson had previously noted that it’s hard to imagine him not being able to go for Game 3.

We’ll see soon enough just how much of an impact Thompson’s lobbying has on the powers to be in Oakland.

The three-time NBA champ is averaging nearly 20 points per game thus far in the playoffs. His availability for Game 3 looms large.
