The Golden State Warriors’ PR department might be among the best in the business. It’s continually trading light-hearted shots with members of the coaching staff and players.
That pretty much came to a culmination prior to Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Lakers and former Warriors assistant coach Luke Walton.

Why do you have to do Luke so dirty, guys?
This is a somewhat true stat. When Walton took over for the ailing Steve Kerr during the 2015-16 season, he led the Warriors to a 39-4 record. Last season saw current Warriors assistant Mike Brown lead Golden State to a perfect 12-0 mark in Kerr’s stead, ultimately helping the team to the NBA title.
Technically, Walton boasts the worst record between the two as interim head coaches for Golden State. But we have a bit of a wrinkle to put into this burn.
Remember when the Warriors were really bad? Yeah, it seems like a long time ago. Though, the likes of Brian Winters (2001-02), Garry St. Jean (1999-2000) and Bob Lanier (1994-95) all boast worst records with the interim tag in Oakland.
Yes, we did the research. No, we’re not fun at parties.
Someone go ahead and hand this to Walton, please.
