Denver Broncos superstar Von Miller recently expressed his lack of enthusiasm for OTAs, noting in the grand scheme of things they can be more trouble than they’re worth.
On Monday, he, along with six other Broncos players, was absent from the team’s OTA practice.

At this point, it’s unknown exactly what Miller’s reason for being absent is. These aren’t mandatory practices, and many other established veterans around the league have abstained from taking part in them as well. Including two of Miller’s best teammates on the offensive side.
Miller himself still has quite a bit of guaranteed money left on his current contract. So it seems unlikely that this absence has anything to do with a contract dispute.
Given the fact that one of Miller’s teammates recently suffered a season-ending Achilles injury, however, and given his own comments on these practices, Miller missing Monday’s practice shouldn’t be a huge surprise.
