In the aftermath of the horrific events in Dallas when five police officers were fatally shot and seven were injured, Denver Broncos Super Bowl MVP Von Miller made donations to the city of DeSoto, Texas, where he attended high school.

While absolutely nothing can be done to right the senseless and unnecessary acts that were committed on Thursday evening in Dallas, Miller’s kind gesture can be appreciated. Miller reportedly took the time to sign autographs when he donated the check to the DeSoto Fire Rescue and SUV to the police department.

Miller is currently in tricky negotiations with his Broncos on an extension that would lock him up with the team for the next five seasons.

Though that and much of what anybody has going on in their busy lives today hardly matters. The United States is mourning the five lives lost in the line of duty to such a horrific and heinous crime.
