The Minnesota Vikings must have all hands on deck if they want to upset the top seed San Francisco 49ers at Levi’s Stadium in the NFC Divisional Playoffs this weekend.
While seemingly minor in nature, the team was not practicing with a full deck on Tuesday. According to this report from NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, star receiver Stefon Diggs was absent with an illness.
It’s not yet known what this means, but the expectation is that Diggs will tough it out and go in one of the biggest games of his career. He’s slated to line up opposite All-Pro corner Richard Sherman in this one.
Diggs, 26, recorded just two receptions in last week’s upset win over the New Orleans Saints. He showed outward frustration over a lack of targets throughout the game.
Minnesota heads into this weekend’s game against San Francisco as a touchdown underdog. It needs Diggs to be 100% for kickoff Saturday afternoon.
