VIDEO: Building A Stadium is a Blast

Bad news for the tinfoil hat crew who still insist the stadium here in Las Vegas will never happen.

The Laborers Local 872 kicked off an explosive phase of stadium construction with the beginning of blasting and demolition on the site of the Raiders future stadium here in Las Vegas. The below the surface blasting is done to loosen the deposits of caliche so construction crews can begin the work on the stadiums foundation. Reports state the crews need to dig 40-feet deep to start this phase of the project.

In the video, you can see Local 872’s Business Manager Tommy White throwing the first switch. Blasting like this will occur throughout the site each day.
