Reports indicate the joint practices, which the team last participated in together in 2019, will take place in LA. McVay and Raiders head coach Jon Gruden are long-time friends and the later is a key mentor of McVay. The Rams will also hold joint camp practice with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Rams are holding their 2021 training camp in July in Irvine, California.

Vegas Raiders News: OTAs in Henderson yielding sneak peek at key players

USAToday’s Levi Damien reports new defensive back addition Casey Hayward is already turning heads at Raiders OTAs in Henderson, in the latest Vegas Raiders news.

Getting a chance to know him, be around him, he’s a guy who’s been in the system, going on six years. Just seeing the amount of things he saw. The starts that he got in this system. He pretty much knows it all.

The report from Damien says Hayward’s familiarity with new Las Vegas defensive coordinator Gus Bradley‘s playbook, for whom he played for as a Los Angeles Charger, has given him a head start and a leadership role to players playing in the system for the first time.

“Getting a chance to know him, be around him, he’s a guy who’s been in the system, going on six years. Just seeing the amount of things he saw. The starts that he got in this system. He pretty much knows it all,” Abram said of Hayward this week in the report.

The Raiders defense has been through an overall this offseason and the team’s young defensive backs proved last season they were in dire need of veteran leadership. Hayward brings that experience and his knowledge of Bradley’s system and style make him a valuable addition.

Hayward will compete with last year’s first-round draft pick Damon Arnette and 2019 draft pick Trayvon Mullen. Mullen made significant progress last year and is viewed as a starter. Competition at position will be a key battle to watch through training camp later this summer.
