Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. NBA Hall of Famer Magic Johnson, who is well known around social media circles for possessing a horrible Twitter account, offered up some rather interesting advice to Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III (h/t CBS Sports).
He’s got to stop listening to social media, stop looking at it,” Johnson told ESPN Radio. “One thing I would tell him, too, quit focusing on your brand. I think he got caught up focusing on his brand. RGIII has to focus on being the greatest quarterback that he can be.
I don’t want to see him on social media. I don’t want him to talk about his workouts, lifting weights, because, oh, he’s great. What I want him to do is show me that he’s working on his technique to be a better football player and a better quarterback. That’s the only thing I want to see, because that’s what everybody’s going to judge him by.
This all stems from RGIII getting into a rather ridiculous spat with a fan on Instagram. The short of it was that a specific troll was upset that the Redskins quarterback posted his music choice (Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean) on his way to a workout.
As it relates to Johnson’s own social media habit, here’s a glimpse into his “hot takes.”
And the best one by far…
The only way San Antonio or Miami don't win the championship is if neither team makes the finals.

As it relates to RGIII’s social media habits, we are going to side with the enigmatic Redskins quarterback. If you expect athletes to have no life outside of sports, you are one of THOSE fans who probably don’t have a life outside of your favorite sports team.
In terms of taking advice from Magic regarding social media. Please don’t do it, RGIII.
