Contradicting reports that the UFC has been sold for the gaudy price of $4.2 billion, TMZ is reporting there is no deal at this time.
The story first broke on June 20 when Jeremy Botter of FloSports tweeted the following message:

However, this deal that was previously reported may never get done, per TMZ. Owners Lorenzo and Frank Fertitta haven’t come close to an agreement on the sale price with WME talent agency and others, including New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
“Sources tell us … there are negotiations but ‘a deal isn’t even close.’ In fact, we’re told there has not even been an agreement on whether 100% of the UFC will be sold or just a portion. Nor have the parties agreed on price.”
Interestingly, the previous reported deal that was supposedly finalized over dinner in Hollywood likely couldn’t have happened. TMZ is reporting the parties involved were nowhere near Hollywood on Sunday.
This bears watching in the next week or so. Per the report, if a deal does get done, it’s not likely to happen this week, if ever.
