Less than 24 hours after being taken from the cage on a stretcher after collapsing in the third round of Bellator 149 against Kimbo Slice, Dhafir Harris found himself fighting for his life.

Jeremy Botter of CNN reports the heavyweight fighter’s heart stopped. He was in critical condition overnight.

ESPN reported Harris was able to sit up and take oxygen after the fight, but obviously his condition deteriorated after he arrived at the local hospital last night.

Given the way he collapsed during the fight, which lasted into the third round, it seems like getting back into a cage is the last thing Harris should be considering at this time.

Right now, the main concern is getting him back on his feet at all. And in this, we wish the fighter well.
